After the coordinated investigation by the Serres Security Sub-Directorate, a climber-burglar was arrested and eight cases of apartment burglaries, which took place in the last month in Serres with loot of 21,000 euros, were investigated.
Specifically, as emerged from the investigation, the burglar, a little earlier from the moment he was detected, had climbed onto a balcony of a first-floor apartment, where, after breaking the balcony door, he removed various jewelry from the inside, with a total value of 15,000 euros, according to the victim’s statement . The stolen jewelry was found in his possession and returned to its rightful owner.
From the further investigation it emerged that in the last month, in the same way, he had broken into an additional seven apartments, from where he removed money and jewelry, with a total value of 6,210 euros, according to a statement from the victims.
In the possession of the arrested person, burglary tools, gloves and a metal blade were found, which were confiscated. Also, a bicycle he was using was confiscated. The police investigation continues in order to establish any involvement of the above in similar crimes.
The arrested person was taken to the Public Prosecutor of Serres.
