The complaint was made yesterday by the EKAV Employees’ Union of Imathia, prompting an ex officio police investigation.
A case was filed against a 56-year-old man, who is accused of hitting and abusing an ambulance rescuer, during his transfer from the Health Center of Alexandria Imathia to the Hospital of Veria, because, according to a complaint, he disagreed with the ambulance’s route.
The complaint was made yesterday by the EKAV Employees’ Union of Imathia, prompting an ex officio police investigation.
According to what became known, it was not possible to arrest the 56-year-old – he voluntarily left the hospital where he was treated – but a case file was filed by the Veria Police Department for the offenses of violence against employees, bodily harm and insult.
As a sign of protest against the violence towards the rescuers, the employees of EKAV Imathia will go on strike today (from 12:00 to 15:00 in the morning shift and from 15:00 to 18:00 in the afternoon shift), as announced by the Workers Union.
During the stop, priority will be given to very urgent cases, according to a relevant announcement.
