Testimony: Through a public hospital doctor he came in contact with the “Dr Kontos” cancer patient who died

Through a doctor of a public hospital, he found the “distinguished oncologist Dr. Kontos”, a patient with lung cancer, who died in 2016 after undergoing “treatments” of the pseudo-doctor for a number of months, according to what the victim’s son testified in the Mixed Jury Court.

The witness told the court that his father addressed “Dr Kontos” about whom he had spoken “a surgeon in Evangelism”. According to the witness, “I do not know the accused. I saw him only once from a distance in Evangelismos, on the 5th floor of the surgery clinic. My father had lung cancer, had half his lung removed and then underwent chemotherapy until September 2014. An evangelism surgeon recommended him to be a “doctor”. I was present when he first met the accused… he was in a critical condition, he had taken the downhill, he was with a lung and he was also taking oxygen. My father had a downward spiral because he smoked four packs a day. “When he met the accused, he had a lung metastasis, he was six months, one year old…”.

According to the victim’s son, “Dr Kontos” supplied the patient with various preparations. Some of them, as he testified, went together to get them from Koropi, where the accused lived.

“We went to Koropi five times. At four he gave her a bottle with a preparation; I do not know what it was. I said to him “do you believe these things?” But he was a man who has reached this point, the limit and decided to stop chemotherapy and was “caught” by the accused. He told us that “I will take this medicine” and that “the doctor is very good”. He had a doctor from our village who told him “do not get caught with puppets and do stupid things”. However, the father continued his declining course. When he finally did not see any improvement and realized that all this was a lie, he turned and said to me “my child, you are right”. “Unfortunately, I lost him in March 2016.”
