Work station in Attica, 24 hours in the region
The Panhellenic Federation of Public Hospital Employees (POEDIN) and the Federation of Associations of Hospital Doctors of Greece (OEGNE) are carrying out a strike action today, Thursday, with a basic demand for the staffing and funding of hospitals. ADEDY also supports their mobilization.
The Federation of Associations of Hospital Doctors of Greece (OENGE) and the Panhellenic Federation of Public Hospital Employees (POEDIN) have announced a 24-hour strike for the region and a work stoppage, from 08:00 to 15:00 for Attica. They are also planning a gathering in Mavili Square at 08:30 and a march to the Ministry of Health.
The two Federations complain about the understaffing and underfunding of the hospitals and ask for the resolution of financial and institutional requests. They also say “no to the privatization of the NHS” and demand, among other things, funding for hospitals, recruitment of permanent staff, permanence of adjuncts and contract workers, as well as increases in the salaries of health workers.
