Cycladic, as the company is called, promises to provide solutions to major communication problems between the Aegean islands

Flights between the islands of the Dodecanese, as well as to and from Athens, start next Monday, providing a solution to the interconnectivity of the islands.

More specifically, a new Greek company is starting with two small aircraft, aiming to serve both those who want to visit and those who live on the islands throughout the year, while its first aircraft are more reminiscent of private jets than conventional airlines.

Cycladic, as the company is called, promises to provide solutions to important communication problems between the Aegean islands that host a multitude of public bodies and services of critical importance for the economy, education, and more, of the island country. According to information, the company intends to immediately buy other aircraft and also to invest in electric ones.

It will operate on a 12-month basis and will not concern subsidized destinations as it is a private initiative and investment with the said project is yet another proof of the evolution of Greek tourism.

In the first stage of the business plan the airline will use three new Cessna Grand Caravan EX with a capacity of 8 to 10 passengers.

Two of these aircraft will operate specific scheduled routes. Tickets will be sold online as well as through agencies. They will have their own codes, like all flights, and check-in will be done normally at the airport ground handling offices, like all other commercial flights. The third Cessna Grand Caravan EX will remain available for lease to operate private flights.

Cycladic will initially fly only between specific islands of the Cyclades, Rhodes and Crete. The two aircraft that will carry out these routes will be based in Paros.

The company has a flexible plan which, in addition to the prospect of expanding its aircraft fleet, foresees the possibility of adding other destinations based on demand. The first flights will start in October and will initially connect Chania, Santorini, Heraklion, Mykonos, Paros, Rhodes and Syros, but during the winter months some more destinations will be added, while in summer Milos will be included .
