A few hours earlier, however, the Russian Foreign Ministry had referred to the 195th anniversary of the Naval Battle of Navarino and the contribution of Russia, Britain and France to the victory against the Ottoman fleet, stressing that after this “epic naval battle the Greece was finally led to its independence”.
