The importance of the circular issued yesterday by the Holy Synod to encourage vaccinations and the implementation of measures to stop the coronavirus, was mentioned by the Metropolitan of Alexandroupolis Anthimos, speaking on SKAI TV and the show “Today”.

“It simply came to our notice then. If some have sterile negativity it is absurd. But if they have a religious hesitation, move on. “The session is coming, it takes the risk of even the infinitesimal effects that the vaccine can have and it says ” I guarantee you, I bless you, go ahead and do not be afraid ””, he emphasized characteristically.

Asked to comment on a priest who operated in Lesvos while he knew he was positive for the coronavirus, the Metropolitan reminded that according to the Holy Canons, a plague that killed millions of people killer. “The same is true now”, stressed Mr. Anthimos, calling on everyone not to be held responsible for a murder, even through negligence.

Regarding the control of certificates at the entrance of the faithful to the temples, he stated that it was not done until now but “from now on there will be some control”. He added, however, that he needed delicacy and opposed compulsion, saying that one could go to church crying for one’s child, begging for something in one’s life and need delicacy.
