With the agreement of the investigator and prosecutor, the 38-year-old woman, who threw caustic liquid on her estranged husband, was remanded in custody, as stated by her lawyer, Apostolos Lytras.
The woman appeared early Saturday morning at the Heraklion courthouse to apologize after a reprieve she got when she surrendered to the authorities last Tuesday.
Mr. Lytras noted that the decision of the investigator and prosecutor is reasonable, as the case file has not been completed, the victim’s statement does not exist, not all the evidence is available yet.

“In her apology, she stated that she fears for her life and receives threats,” said Mr. Lytras.
