In the “nets” of AADE, a steakhouse that systematically evaded taxes
A steakhouse in the central square of Chania was engaged in tax evasion for five years, as auditors of the Independent Public Revenue Authority (AADE) found.
In its five years of operation, the steakhouse evaded taxes on three levels:
- In the information she submitted in her tax returns
- In the lack of the required software
- On receipts, which he did not issue on orders through delivery platforms
The auditors did a “leaf and feather” of the tax data of the years 2018, 2019 and 2020, and found the following:
- From the data of the submitted declarations, there was zero gross income and cumulative losses of more than 90,000 euros for these three fiscal years.
- By visiting the business, the AADE auditors found that the business was operating without the use of the Tax Electronic Mechanism, from the first day of its operation.
- The data of the digital ordering platforms was put into the special algorithm to be processed and compared with the issued receipts. It was established that a total of 137,000 orders had not been issued Retail Transaction Receipts, with a total value of 1.1 million euros, which corresponds to VAT of 143,000 euros.
In addition to the fines and surcharges that have already been imposed on the company, the auditors continue to investigate other tax data of the company.
