Last year, one ton of oil was gathered, while this year, when the year is better, it is expected to reach even twice the amount.
In about 400 families which are economically weaker will be given the oil that will be produced from the smelter of the Municipality of Alimos.
For another year in Alimos, the olives are collected from the common areas and after they are transported to an olive mill in Koropi, the oil produced will be given to approximately 400 registered families in social structures tof the city.
At the same time, the olive trees are pruned and cared for, while the pollution of the sidewalks by the olives, which at the same time cause a risk of accidents for pedestrians, is prevented.
According to the mayor of Alimos, Andreas Kondylis, last year one ton of oil was collected, while this year is better and it is expected to reach even twice the amount.
