The 48-year-old, originally from Kazakhstan, pleaded not guilty to a charge of causing death by grievous bodily harm after the 76-year-old suffered a heart attack and died from the blow
The 48-year-old man accused of hitting a 76-year-old man who was fishing in Kallithea’s marina on October 28, as a result of which the old man lost his life, was released with restrictive conditions after his plea.
The 48-year-old, originally from Kazakhstan, pleaded guilty to the charge of causing fatal bodily harm and with the agreement of the investigator and prosecutor, he was imposed the restrictive condition of mandatory appearance twice a month at a police station.
According to information, during his apology the 48-year-old denied the act attributed to him and cites the forensic report which accepts as the cause of the victim’s death, a recent myocardial infarction “on old ground”.
The two men seem to have argued when the 78-year-old asked the defendant not to fall into the sea to swim where he was fishing.
The coroner is awaiting the results of histology and toxicology tests.
