ELAS announcement on the arrest of the author of children’s books – “I was downloading the files to write a book for pedophiles”

A multi-awarded man was taken to Tripoli prisons author children’s books, 55 years oldas pornographic material with minors was found in his possession.

According to police sources, the well-known author was “stung” by the special Child Protection System software available to the Electronic Crime Prosecution to download pornographic material “starring” minor children.

In fact, from ELAS’s investigations it emerged that the author had 100 videos of hard pornographic material with children under the age of 12 on his computer.

The 55-year-old was arrested, at his home, in her area Glyfadaby officers from the Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate, while claiming that he was downloading the material because he wanted to write a book about child pornography and pedophiles.

The police announcement in detail

From the Directorate for the Prosecution of Electronic Crime, a case file of an automatic procedure – of a criminal nature – was filed against a person, for pornography of minors, via the Internet.

The arrest was made in the context of actions to deal with the phenomenon of child pornography, then utilization of information received from foreign Authorities, through international police cooperation.

Specifically, after a thorough and thorough online investigation, a user was identified, within the Greek territory, who gained access to various websites – applications and possessed redistributable files of child sexual abuse material.

The above was brought to the attention of the Athens District Attorney’s Office and a relevant will was issued for the removal of the confidentiality of the communications, while after correspondence with the internet service providers and the further preliminary police investigation, the details of the person involved were identified and his place of residence was obtained.

Afterwards, a team of police officers conducted a search at his home, where all were found and confiscated 2 hard driveswhile from the on-site research in the digital persuasions it was identified number of child pornography files.

The seized digital evidence will be sent to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations for further laboratory examination.

The arrested person, with the case file filed against him, was taken to the competent Prosecutor, where he was referred to an Investigator and subsequently his temporary detention was ordered.
