The news dropped like a bombshell that the well-known author of children’s literature, Vassilis Papatheodorou accused of child pornography. People of letters and arts who worked with him in series cannot believe that a man who was constantly around children and wrote books about them, would have in his possession videos and photos of hard porn starring minors.

He, who is on remand in Tripoli prisons, declares his innocence while claiming that he had the material found on his hard drives as raw material for a book he was going to write and it was about the dangers of the Internet as well as sexual abuse and exploitation of minors.

In his apologetic note he specifically mentions:

“At the outset I want to state with all honesty and decency that I am not and have never been a pedophile in my life. I felt no satisfaction or pleasure from the confiscated material. Instead, I felt loathing, disgust, disgust, and deep sorrow.

The material found is raw material for my book on the subject of the Internet, the dangers that lurk in the light of sexual abuse and exploitation of minors.

In the book I would write, I would have as a central axis the danger of the internet for the abuse and sexual exploitation of a young teenager.”

His claim, however, did not convince the prosecutor and the investigator, who by their joint decision “showed” him the way to prison.

At the same time, the publishing house for which he was responsible for a number of years announced the termination of their cooperation after what they saw in the public light.

According to the police, 2 hard drives have been confiscated after a search carried out at his home and have been sent to ELAS forensics for further laboratory examination.
