EL.AS investigation into the MAT attack on Aris fans – The police officer involved was transferred from his service

Preliminary Administrative Examination was ordered by the headquarters of the Hellenic Police, for the incident with unnecessary attack by the MAT on fans of ‘Aris Thessalonikiafter the football match with Atromitos in Peristeri, while the policeman who started the episode has already been removed from his service.

The reaction of the ELAS headquarters was with video occasion which is doing the rounds on the internet and has caused quite an impression as it clearly shows the police officer of the MAT squad suddenly moving and punching one of the fans in the face, without anything being done until that moment. It was this action that caused tension and a general attack by the police against the followers of ‘Aris, under the disapproval of the locals.

An announcement was issued by ELAS for the event which states:

“The Headquarters of the Hellenic Police announces that a Preliminary Administrative Examination has been ordered for an incident, which is reproduced on social media and internet websites, in the context of taking order measures at yesterday’s (Saturday, November 5, 2022) football match in Peristeri Attica and involved police officer was transferred from his Service”.
