Kerameos to SKAI on the cooperation between American and Greek universities: Our students will go to the USA without tuition fees

A series of privileges for Greek students, teachers, and Greek universities is brought by the close cooperation of Greek universities with famous American universities, the Minister of Education emphasized to SKAI Niki Kerameoseven mentioning that Greek students will be able to go to the USA to study, for several months, without paying tuition fees.

In the wake of the announcement by the American Columbia University, of the establishment of an international education center in Athens in 2023, Niki Kerameos noted that: “at the moment there are 30 leading American universities in Greece such as Yale, Harvard, Columbia, Johns Hopkins for to cooperate with ours. E.g. imagine a leading Greek university, our students will be able tothey go for a semester or more, at a foreign university in America without tuition fees, that is, something completely unapproachable to students becomes tangible. Tuition fees in America may be close to 70,000 dollars a year,” explained the Minister of Education.

“When we say partnerships we are talking about double degrees, joint degrees, summer programs, winter programs English language programs. The collaborations have already started. There are many collaborations like Johns Hopkins with Ionian University for Alzheimer’s. Our universities are now claiming a higher position in the international rankings” he said.

Furthermore, the Minister of Education noted that “with Article 16, see how much the English-speaking programs have increased, our country has two English-speaking medical schools. English-speaking medicine operating in Thessaloniki, only from the first batch of students at the University of Thessaloniki, will receive over 4 million euros.
