To make these soft, chewy, incredibly easy Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies you need a bowl and simple ingredients: oats, melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg for spice.
What do you need:
- 1/2 cup (113 g) unsalted butter, melted
- 3/4 cup (150 g) brown sugar, packed
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 and 1/4 cups (155 g) all-purpose flour
- 1 cup (86 g) oats
- 1/2 cup (85 g) chocolate chips
- Coarse sea salt or table salt (optional, for sprinkling on top)
How to make it:
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Line a shallow pan with non-stick paper and set aside.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, sugar, egg, vanilla, spices, baking soda and salt.
- Mix together the flour and oats until it forms a dough. Add the chocolate chips.
- With a spoon measure the same quantities, make small balls and lay them in a row with a distance of about 6-7 centimeters between them. Add additional chocolate chips to the tops of each ball, if desired.
- Bake for 10 minutes! Sprinkle sea salt on top after baking if desired.
- Let the cookies cool for at least 5 minutes. Keep well covered, at room temperature for up to 5 days.
