ELSTAT: Marginal increase of 0.3% in car sales in October this year

A marginal increase of 0.3% was recorded in the sales of cars in Greece in October this year, as, according to ELSTAT, 14,740 cars (new or used foreign) were released for the first time in that month, compared to 14,698 that were released in the corresponding month of 2021 (an increase of 11.5% was presented in October 2021 compared to the corresponding month of 2020). New cars totaled 8,692 compared to 7,250 launched in October 2021, showing an increase of 19.9%.

In the 10th month, 177,900 cars (new or used foreign) were released for the first time compared to 170,262 released in the corresponding period in 2021, showing an increase of 4.5% (an increase of 22% was shown in the ten months of January-October of 2021 compared to the corresponding period of 2020). New cars totaled 99,406 compared to 97,107 released in the 10th month of 2021, showing an increase of 2.4%.

At the same time, 4,001 new motorcycles with a displacement of more than 50 cc (new and used foreign) were launched in October compared to 3,598 in the corresponding month in 2021, showing an increase of 11.2% (a 6.1% increase had been shown in October 2021 compared to the corresponding month of 2020). New motorcycles totaling 3,749 compared to 3,286 launched in October 2021, showing an increase of 14.1%.

In the 10th month, 53,438 new motorcycles with a displacement of more than 50 cc (new and used foreign) were released compared to 43,468 released in the corresponding period in 2021, showing an increase of 22.9% (an increase of 28.8% had been shown in the 10th month of 2021 compared to corresponding to 2020). New motorcycles totaled 49,557 compared to 39,603 launched in the 10th month of 2021, showing an increase of 25.1%.
