A 63-year-old shepherd from Kotroni, Trikala, who was found beaten in his sheepfold at noon last Friday, November 11, died of his injuries.
As established by the forensic examination, the unfortunate man was struck by a ram. It is reported that the animal pushed him so hard that he fell on some stones, resulting in a serious head injury.
According to information from FORMedia.gr, a neighbor found the unfortunate man beaten and unconscious and immediately notified his relatives.
The shepherd was initially taken to the Pyli Health Center for the provision of first aid.
However, due to the criticality of the situation, he was transferred to the Trikala General Hospital, where he was found to have a severe brain injury. He was immediately intubated and it was deemed necessary to transfer him to the Larissa University Hospital.
There he underwent head surgery and was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit of the Trikala General Hospital, where he ended up.
His funeral will take place tomorrow at 12 noon at the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin in Kotroni, Trikala.
