The 43-year-old son-in-law seems to have had enough of a grudge against his father-in-law
A 67-year-old man in Volos went to court, accusing his daughter’s 43-year-old husband of breaking the balcony door of his house and attacking him breaking his teeth.
The incident took place on April 22, 2020, when the accused and the daughter of the 67-year-old they were apart and they no longer lived together. Looking for her, the 43-year-old went late at night to the apartment where his father-in-law lived with his elderly father. But it didn’t ring a belli, but decided to force his way in by breaking the balcony door of the living room, as the house was on the ground floor.
He was immediately noticed by the 67-year-old who was in the room at the time and a fight broke out between the two men, with his father-in-law saying that he must give notice if he wants to enter the house and that his daughter is not there. “He doesn’t want to see you, he’s under my protection.” Then the 67-year-old called the police.
Then the 43-year-old, grabbing his father-in-law, kicked him in the face, a blow which broke his teeth and tore his upper lip. Then he escaped.
When the police arrived, the 67-year-old was taken by ambulance to the Volos hospital, where it was found that he had lost a tooth and needed stitches.
The 43-year-old denied the accusations and claimed that his father-in-law called him and invited him to his house to talk. He admitted that there was tension between them, but no threats, while he claimed that the 67-year-old broke his tooth … himself, because he tripped and fell on his face on the coffee table.
His girlfriend even presented herself as a defense witness, who claimed that at that time she was in a steakhouse opposite his father-in-law’s house, and she saw the defendant enter from the entrance of the apartment building.
The jury found the 43-year-old guilty of domestic assault and sentenced him to 12 months in prison, suspended for three years.
