The continuous evolution of the Opel Corsa-e and Opel Mokka-e has resulted in significant increases in the autonomy of both models – not according to the official WLTP (Worldwide harmonized Light vehicles Test Procedure) standard but also in real conditions.
With a single charge of the battery, the award-winning Opel Corsa-e, introduced in 2019, can now cover up to 359 km under the WLTP standard, an increase of about 7%. The autonomy of the Mokka-e, which went on sale in 2020 and most recently won the “Golden Steering Wheel 2021” award, has increased to 338 kilometers (WLTP).
The increases in autonomy have been achieved, among other things, thanks to the optimization of the HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning) systems and the propulsion systems of the Opel Corsa-e and Opel Mokka-e.
The efficiency of the heat pump, which heats and cools the interior and is included in the standard equipment of both models, is now greater than ever. Heat pumps are more efficient than conventional HVAC systems, as they consume less energy from the battery for the benefit of autonomy. Customers will notice the improvement especially when driving during the winter months.
The new gearbox and the 16-inch A + 16 (Corsa-e) and 17-inch (Mokka-e) class tires also contribute to the increase in autonomy.
The Opel Corsa-e and Opel Mokka-e are part of the German manufacturer’s complete electric drive with a rich tradition. Opel already has nine electrified models in the market – LCV (Light CommercialVehicles) and passenger cars. The brand’s product range will be fully electrified by 2024. Opel will focus exclusively on the purely electric vehicle sector in Europe from 2028.
