Arrogance has always been the worst adviser of all public figures. And whenever it almost became a guide for managing any kind of crisis, it always led with mathematical precision to create a new and perhaps harsher one.

For the second day yesterday, Antonis Kanakis and the actors of the wounded by an unprecedented in the TV time scandal “Radio Arvyla” are trying to save a situation from those who never believed that they would be called to face.

“Their brother”, the “glued”, Stathis Panagiotopoulos brought a woman in the unthinkable position to see – along with thousands of others – herself in her love affairs on the vast internet. This woman has been trying for three years to find her right and get rid of the deep stain that his act leaves on her, appealing to justice but also at times begging her executioner to redeem her. That, as she says, made her even think about ending her life.

During these three years, this great man together with his “brothers”, his “family”, as they call their TV company, enjoy an exciting life, with publicity, money, recognition and especially the air and the magic that the opportunity to be above all offers you in front of the citizens, indiscriminately shouting at everyone and everything and attacking the just and the unjust under the eaves of satire.

“A joke is something very serious,” said Winston Churchill, among many other sages, and unfortunately it was not uncommon all these years that on Radio Arvylas, the thin thread that separates the plate from the serious was broken. Sometimes because the spirit – the spirit is the dishonor, what to do to you – was exhausted in the face of the greedy process of covering the excessive television time – the innocent version – and other times because the plate became the cloak of the serious – the most sought after version, you choose.

Because when the illusion occurs, the satire is transformed into a sermon or a sermon. And as is well known, sermons are for priests and sermons are for politicians. But even if you decide to reserve such a position for yourself, then Mr. Kanakis you must make sure that your boots do not stink.
The way in which the presenter and the rest of the “family” react shows that unfortunately they have not understood the reason why a large portion of the citizens react and oppose them. For many years the company of the inviolable , they have made the profession of “cracking” by waving their finger at each one with whom they disagree, and finally it turns out that there is a beast between them. A beast they neither saw nor smelled.

Good faith we have to believe them. But then what? Logic says that you humbly apologize, keep silent and go to your corner to think about what went wrong all these years. Instead, unfortunately, for the past two days we have been seeing Antonis Kanakis, dressed in black and crushed, talking close-up, with the wedges to his presenters being made only when the nods that confirm to the viewer that they also agree must be recorded. To preach and preach humanism and morality, again denouncing the system that created the conditions for chadosites to exist and for behaviors like those of the bereaved brother to flourish. And on the uncontrollable tearful chatter, the wounded eyes of the presenter look only at the eyes of the victim of the savagery of the former “stickler” and with an ungrateful intimacy addressing her as “my love” and “my girlfriend”.

It’s the moment you realize that the unexpected scandal has turned into another TV show. It’s the moment you say that unfortunately they have not understood anything. We understood.
