Despite the difficulties, the woman managed to escape and has been living alone with her four children in Crete for 2.5 years.

As she describes, her husband beat her even when she had it newborn in her arms and they were returning from the maternity hospital to her house and her other child was sitting in the back seat of the car. At another point in her testimony, she mentions in a trembling voice that there was a special room in the house where “certain incidents took place so that the children could not see”.

“We left the hospital where I had given birth. She was hitting me almost the whole way, with the newborn in my arms and the other child in the back seat. His point was that if the kids don’t listen to him, “Look what’s going to happen to you. What kept me going was what people would say. Do you think if I leave and continue to live in the same place, will I get her clean? I will live; What will my children become? I was told then, the greatest crime is to have your children in this environment. This is what you should think about” describes.
