The resignation of the members of the Board of Directors. of the structure in Thessaloniki that accommodates children and adults with disabilities, was requested and received by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, after the inspection and the irregularities that were detected.
The ministry’s announcement in more detail:
“Following the preventive audits requested by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs and carried out by levels of the National Transparency Authority (NAA), an audit report was issued on the structure of children and adults with disabilities in Central Macedonia (Thessaloniki). It identifies omissions and irregularities in the operation of the structure, which must be clarified further as soon as possible.
For this purpose and in order to facilitate the investigation process, the resignation of all the members of the Board of Directors of the structure was requested and received today.
At the same time, the EAD continues the controls in other structures as well. The protection of children and all beneficiaries is our priority.”
The conclusion of the Transparency Authority is unfounded
The conclusion of the Hellenic Transparency Authority for the Structure of Care and Protection of Children with Disabilities of Thessaloniki is valid. He found a series of omissions as well as the existence of an isolation room even though it is not provided for.
