The first Museum, which will have Santa Claus as its guide, is preparing to take “flesh and bones” in the mansion of Dimitrios Tsalopoulos, in Katerini and every year it will open in a different city
In recent years, Christmas in Greece has changed drastically, thanks to the appearance of Christmas Villages, which are a point of reference. This year, however, another step is taken in completing the festive puzzle and the first Christmas Museum is created!
There, from December 17, the beloved saint of young and old will be waiting for the whole family and individual visitors for a different “journey”, which will start with an almost “mandatory” need: a commemorative photo at the entrance of the decorated space.
This festive Museum will include information on the history of Christmas in the world, on the history of Santa Claus, his beard and costume, on Christmas customs in Greece and the folklore of our country, on fairy tales, melodies, carols, the flavors and sweet aromas of the holidays.
The aim of the creators, Grigoris Avanidis, Vikis Vournias and Dimitris Symeonidis, is to have exhibits in the Christmas Museum from next year, such as for example old ornaments but also various objects that will be connected with the festive spirit of the days.
According to the original idea, every year the Museum will “move” to another region of the country so that everyone can be guided to the “secrets” of the most beloved celebration.
