The possibility for new measures and extension of the obligation of vaccination was left open by the Minister of Health, Thanos Plevris, speaking to SKAI 100.3 and Mars Portosalte.
Regarding the compulsory vaccination, he stressed that it was imposed on citizens over 60 because they are the ones who are seriously ill and put pressure on the health system. He clarified that if the obligation is extended, it will concern exclusively the groups of citizens who are presumably burdened by the NSS.
At the same time, although he stated that he was optimistic that new measures would not be needed based on the data from the vaccinations, he noted that this is a possibility that always remains on the table.
As Mr. Plevris said, based on the available data, the percentage of vaccinated citizens in the adult population is about 80%.
Especially for the 520,000 unvaccinated citizens over the age of 60, he underlined that since the day the obligation was implemented, 119,000 vaccinations have been made or planned and 20,000 appointments have been made for home vaccination.

Regarding the reports on the metropolitan who was hospitalized in Agrinio and transferred to a unit in Athens while there was an ICU in the same hospital, Mr. Plevris stressed that in order for a patient to be transferred to another hospital he must be in stable condition and be able to move, something that also judged only by doctors. Regarding this case, he stated that he was informed that the other patient was not stable for transfer, something that happened after two 24 hours.
Regarding the study, Tsiodra and Lytra stated that, as Mr. Tsiodras himself said, he takes into account only one element, while there are others.
Regarding the mutation, Omicron noted that the fourth wave of the pandemic is in a phase of relative recession and that is why it is very important to delay the presence of this variant in our country.
