Targeted checks were carried out in 16 brothels to identify victims of human trafficking and check the legality of their operation
A special police operation was carried out last Friday (2/12) until the early hours of Saturday (3/12) in the center of Athens by the Athens Security Sub-Directorate of the Attica Security Directorate, in collaboration with the Patrol Sub-Directorate of the Athens Police Directorate.
During the operation, targeted checks were carried out in 16 brothels to identify victims of human trafficking and check the legality of their operation, during which a total of 33 people (30 women and 3 men) were arrested and a case file was filed against them for violation of seals that the Authority raised.
In addition, targeted checks were carried out by a unit of the Extortion Prosecution Department of the Attica Security Directorate at 4 health shops in the center of Athens and 11 people were checked.
The arrested were taken to the Criminal Prosecutor of Athens.
