New round of incidents between Roma and police – 10 police injured, 4 by shrapnel

During the incidents, 10 police officers were slightly injured, 4 of them from shrapnel and the rest from objects that were received and transported for first aid to the 401 military hospital.

Incidents were caused yesterday Tuesday by Roma in various places in Athens and Thessaloniki in protest against the shooting of the 16-year-old by a police officer in Thessaloniki.

In Athens, calm prevails at the moment, according to the police, in Auliza Acharnon, where last night there were incidents with Roma who had gathered in the area.

During the incidents, 10 police officers were slightly injured, 4 of them from shrapnel and the rest from objects that were received and transported for first aid to the 401 military hospital.

The regional Aegaleo, where Roma had earlier set up barricades, remains closed until now.

New tension was noted at night in Thessaloniki when a group of people placed buckets on the road and set them on fire on Lagada Street at the height of the Stavroupoli flyover, as a result of which traffic was interrupted in both directions.

Last night there were also incidents in Dendropotamos where a group of about 150 people attacked the building of the Economic Police with molotov cocktails. They were then pushed back by the police forces.
