Critical but stable” is according to a high-ranking officer of the Ministry of Civil Protection the state of health of the 16-year-old who was shot by a DIAS police officer in Thessaloniki and is being treated at Hippocrates Hospital.

According to the officer, there is daily communication between ELAS and the hospital in order to be informed about his state of health.

When asked why there has been no medical announcement so far, the officer stated that this is the responsibility of the hospital and not the police.

At the same time, the Federation of Associations of Hospital Physicians of Greece, in a statement, requests the immediate issuance of a medical communiqué while characterizing “the attitude of the Hospital administrator as unacceptable.

As OENGE typically says:

“Issuing a medical announcement in any case is the responsibility of the respective hospital administrator. It is the doctors’ responsibility to inform the patient’s relatives.
It is unacceptable the attitude of the commander of the Hippocrates of Thessaloniki not to issue a statement on the condition of the 16-year-old victim of murderous police brutality, as long as he has the relevant permission from the patient’s relatives.
