A recent victim of a hacker was a man in Evia, who saw his money become…. wings without getting news
Online scams by hackers in Evia who skim bank accounts without any interaction with unsuspecting victims have become a social scourge.
In fact, the hackers may not even be in Greece, as we are talking about a huge ring from Greece and foreign countries that manage, after very good cooperation, to empty citizens’ deposits or charge exorbitant amounts to bank cards with the competent authorities and credit institutions to be on high alert as the incidents keep increasing.
A recent victim of a hacker was a man in Evia, who saw his money become…. wings without getting news when and how thousands of euros disappeared from his bank account.
As soon as he realized the withdrawal, he contacted the bank and was informed that the withdrawal was made from an area of England!
From that moment a whole hassle started for him, as the process of disputing the transaction is time-consuming, while the man had to face the fact that he ran out of money.
The bank recognized the malicious action and compensated the depositor, however in many cases victims of such incidents have not been so lucky and lose their money forever.
The increase in online fraud of this type has been observed since 2019 and has shown an even greater increase since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, with 2022 being the worst year for online fraud.
The figures are shocking, as according to research, within a year at least 40 million euros have been lost from bank accounts.
