Thessaloniki: Double prosecutorial intervention for the shooting of a 16-year-old Roma

After the prosecutor’s order, two preliminary investigations are conducted into statements and the leaking of the case file

Double prosecutorial intervention was manifested due to the developments in the case shooting of a 16-year-old Roma by a police officer, during a pursuit, in Diavata, Thessaloniki.

According to what has become known, two preliminary investigations are being conducted after the prosecutor’s order, on the one hand for statements that have seen the light of day in the last 24 hours by members of the Roma community with which they threaten or call for reprisals and acts of revenge, and on the other hand for the leakage of material the which is included in the case file.

The first investigation is being carried out by the State Security, investigating the offenses of threatening and inciting to commit a crime, while the second is being investigated by the Internal Affairs Service of the Security Forces for the act of violating judicial confidentiality.

It is recalled that the accused police officer of the DI.AS team. is under house arrest after the disagreement that arose between the prosecutor and the investigator regarding his pre-trial detention or not (the Criminal Court of Thessaloniki will be asked to lift it within 5 days).

At the same time, the 16-year-old is still being intubated in the ICU of the Hippocrates Hospital of Thessaloniki.
