The devastated parents of the 17-year-old girl accused of murdering her 22-year-old friend in Marousi a few days ago issued a statement. According to the forensic report, the 17-year-old allegedly killed the 22-year-old with 40 stab wounds.
The Prosecutor brought criminal charges against the 17-year-old for consummated homicide and illegal use of weapons and referred the case file to a juvenile investigator
Her parents say “this is a heinous, heinous crime that was unfortunately committed by our daughter” and describe the difficult life their daughter has had due to Asberger’s syndrome, which she suffers from, combined with anxiety and depression.
“Neither Asberger’s nor depression is known to kill other people. Our daily struggle, difficult, full of pain and disappointments, without any joy or moral reward lasted many years. The final reward: the judicial Calvary, the social outcry, the stigma, … but worst of all the unbearable pain and tears from the loss of a life”, the parents of the 17-year-old said in their statement.
“For 17 years, we have supported our child every day, in his endless daily difficulties… We will continue to support him in the future, even under the pressure of the new total sadness, with the aim of finding the exact truth and the situations that led him to this heinous crime, in the hope that some mitigating factor will be found to ease our pain” they emphasize.
The announcement in detail
“Following the announcement of the forensic report, we declare that this is a heinous, heinous crime, which was unfortunately carried out by our daughter. Because our purpose hereafter is to render justice, in order to rest the soul of the lost girl, as well as to satisfy as much as possible, the sense of justice of her family.
Because our 17-year-old daughter suffered from Asberger’s syndrome combined with anxiety-depressive disorder, as evidenced by the medical certificates we have provided. As we know, neither Asberger’s nor depression kills other people.
Our daily struggle, difficult, full of pain and disappointments, without any joy or moral reward lasted many years. The final reward: the judicial Calvary, the social outcry, the stigma,… but worst of all the unbearable pain and tears from the loss of a life.
In particular, we have been parents for 17 years, we support our child every day, in his endless daily difficulties, in his unbearable distress, in his social isolation, as well as in his constant disappointments. We will continue to support it in the future, even under the pressure of the new totalitarian sadness.
We will support it defensively in order to find the exact truth and circumstances that led to this heinous crime, in the hope that some mitigating factor will be found to ease our pain. Still standing, united, devoted as always to our family, we continue to fulfill our duty as parents, towards our child”.
