The Deputy Minister of Health also spoke about the changes being promoted in the Emergency Departments through the new bill
This year, the anti-influenza vaccine will be available from pharmacies, as the Deputy Minister of Health told SKAI and the program “Kalimera” with Giorgos Autias Mina Gaga.
“This year, because there was a lot of inconvenience and it was a bit late for people to receive the flu vaccine, we told them to do the vaccine in pharmacies and not need a doctor’s prescription. Because this year we have a very heavy flu season, we see it in children and adults, we told people to get vaccinated without a doctor’s prescription”, he said.
Ms. Gaga also noted the changes being pushed to Emergency Departments through the NHS bill.
“With the new bill passed by the Parliament, we are completely changing the TEPs. Patients stay in the ICU bed and any doctor who needs them sees them there, without moving the patient. In this way, waiting times are reduced and admissions to the hospital are made faster. We think that the TEPs are the first thing that hurts the Greeks, they are the first thing that we want to fix,” said Ms. Gaga.
