Dozens of Roma have started to gather at the family’s house. They talk about an unfair decision and determine their next moves.
Upon hearing the news that the police officer who shot 16-year-old K. Fragoulis was released with restrictive conditions, mourning was followed by anger in the “Agia Sophia” settlement and at the home of the 16-year-old who passed away last Monday.
Dozens of Roma have started to gather at the family’s house. They talk about an unfair decision and determine their next moves.
“The parents were very upset, the father will take legal action, to file an objection against the decision and for the case to reach the Areio Pagos”, said Panagiotis Sambanis, president of the Alexander the Great Roma Federation.
“If we had done this we would be behind bars. The justice system did not judge correctly, it is an injustice for the 16-year-old’s soul,” he emphasized, adding: “We appeal to all of Greece to keep calm. We will decide in a general assembly that there will be a protest march towards the Justice, a peaceful one to send a message to the State and the Justice”.
