The Christmas table is 11%-12% more expensive this year
More precisely by approximately 11-12% this year the Christmas table will cost, compared to the corresponding one in 2021, according to the estimate of the Trade and Services Institute of the Hellenic Confederation of Trade and Entrepreneurship (INEMY-ESEE).
The Institute proceeded with its annual survey on the cost of the Christmas table for 2022 in accordance with its standard practice and – as announced – from the billing results that the cost for this year’s Christmas table, 6 to 8 people, ranges from 92, 55 to 127.07 euros. This is a change of 11.6% to 12.1% compared to the corresponding table of 2021.
The price range, according to the relevant announcement, it is justified by the recording of a series of products of different quality in several local markets and different types of stores, while it is underlined that for reasons of comparability of the data with the previous annual surveys of INEMY for the estimation of the cost of the Christmas table, some have not been included products included in the “festive basket”. On the contrary, melomakaroni and kourabiedes are recorded as every year and are not included in the “household basket” or the “festive basket”.
After the festive season, INEMY-ESEE is going to conduct a nationwide survey regarding the evolution of sales during the festive season in retail businesses.
