With the call to explanations as a suspect of Father Antoniofounder of the Ark of the World for two offences, abuse in carelessness at the expense of minors and moral culpability in bodily harm, the prosecutor’s investigation into the allegations of sexual harassment and child abuse in the Ark is coming to an end.
According to information, the Athens Public Prosecutor’s Office, which is conducting the investigation into what was alleged to have happened at Kivoto, is calling its founder and iconic representative of Father Antonios to an explanation for the abuse of child abuse, a crime allegedly committed against two children, the 19-year-old today who had also filed a related complaint against another minor from the Kivotos structure in Volos.
The charge for which Father Antonios will give explanations allegedly committed serially and professionally.
Alongside, six other people are invited to give explanations workers at the Ark and associates of the priest who are charged on a case-by-case basis with offenses of physical harm against the weak (minors) related to complaints of child abuse (beatings, severe punishments, isolation, etc.). Some of these complaints against probationers are severe, such as prolonged solitary confinement or stone-breaking punishments that resemble torture but are prosecuted as misdemeanors. And this is because with the amendment of the Criminal Code in 2019, the relevant charge from a felony became a misdemeanor and still has not changed.
Separately from the six, an employee from the Volos structure is called to account for exposing a child to danger as it is alleged that while he was beaten, the employee in question did not run to offer him medical assistance, endangering his life.
It is interesting to note that Father Antonios, in addition to the charge of abuse and neglect related to the complaints of the two children, is called to account as a moral perpetrator in the maltreatment of many children.
And this, because, as it became known, from the public prosecutor’s investigation it emerged that the beatings, punishments, etc. at the expense of some children, were a guideline of education by him and a method of intimidating some delinquent children and not isolated cases of mistreatment by his employees and associates Father Antonio.
In any case, those involved in the tangle of complaints about child abuse at Kivoto will request a deadline to prepare their explanations, while at the same time the investigations into the finances of Kivoto are ongoing, which are handled by the prosecutor Ioannis Sevis, while the Anti-Money Laundering Authority of money in its conclusion has pointed out some serious indications of the commission of financial crimes.
