The great Christmas celebration of love and giving has returned to Chania again this year
Young and old, dressed as Santa Clauses, poured into the Venetian harbor of Chania for “Santa Run Day» held today in the city, with the sole ultimate goal of all the offer.
The Saints, gathered in Katehaki Square shortly before 13:00 and symbolically all together carried out the delivery route of the sacks filled with gifts for the children of the city to the big Christmas tree located in Giali Mosque.
However, the day could not be called Santa Run Day without the events and surprises that the organizers have in store for the young and old Santa Clauses every year. So again this year the program included music from a DJ, street food and bar catering, activities and face painting for our little friends.
The bags collected from the action “Make a bag, be Santa” as well as the money from today’s event will be offered to the children supported by ELEPAP Chania, KIFAAMEA, KIFAP “Megalochari” and the “Horizon” Association. In fact, the municipality of Chania gave each bag a premium of 15 euros.
Epilogue of this year’s Santa Run in Chania is the big party that will take place in the afternoon in the courtyard of the 1st Gymnasium.
