A total of 143 checks were carried out in Attica during the three days of Christmas, while, according to ELAS, the checks will continue with unabated intensity.
The Hellenic Police, in the framework of its duties as a co-competent control authority, carries out daily systematic and targeted controls in shops of health interest throughout Greece, with the aim of ensuring the implementation of the anti-smoking legislation.
In this context, between December 1st and December 27th, 20,534 anti-smoking legislation checks were carried out throughout the territory and a total of 814 related violations were confirmed, for smoking patrons and managers of health establishments.
At the same time, in Attica during the three days of Christmas (Friday, December 23, 2022 to Sunday, December 25, 2022), a total of 143 checks were carried out.
As pointed out by ELAS, controls to ensure the implementation of anti-smoking legislation will continue with unabated intensity.
It is recalled that the co-competent Authorities for ensuring the implementation of the legislative and regulatory framework regarding the total ban on smoking in public places and in all places of employment through the detection of violations and the imposition of sanctions are the Health Services of Local Government Organizations grade A ‘ and B’, the Municipal Police, as well as the Port Authorities in their area of ​​responsibility.
