Earthquake in Psachna Evia: 81 autopsies to record the damage – 24 houses were deemed “yellow”

Of the 24 houses in the Municipality of Dirfyon-Messapia that have been marked as yellow, 21 are residential and the remaining 3 are auxiliary and storage areas

The recording of the damage caused by the earthquakes in Central Evia is in progress. Since the morning, teams of engineers from the Ministry of Infrastructure together with engineers from the municipalities, the region of Sterea, as well as engineers provided by the TEE have so far performed 81 autopsies on various houses both in Psachna and the surrounding area, as well as in Chalkida.

In the Municipality of Dirfyon-Messapia in Psachna and the surrounding villages, 73 autopsies were carried out. From these 24 houses were deemed uninhabitable and have been marked with yellow color, while the rest 49 have been marked in green and are habitable.

Of the 24 houses in the Municipality of Dirfyon-Messapia that have been marked as yellow, 21 are residential and the remaining 3 are auxiliary and storage areas.

In terms Chalkida 8 autopsies have been carried out, of which only one building was marked as uninhabitable with a yellow color, all the other 7 were marked with a green color. It should be noted that overall there is minor damage, while in several cases, mainly in Psachna and the surrounding villages, shop windows have been broken, while small-scale damage has also been done to the community shop in Triada.

End, the seismic sequence in the area continues. Seismologists are monitoring the phenomenon, as they stated during yesterday’s meeting, “the fault is known” but without knowing its dimensions. All the civil protection services of both the Sterea Region and the Municipalities, the Police and the Fire Brigade are on heightened alert and continue patrolling.
