The Mayor of Athens, Kostas Bakoyannis, expressed his gratitude for the contribution of “APOSTOLIS” in Athens in his speech at a New Year’s dinner hosted by “APOSTOLIS” for the cutting of the Vasilopita.
The Offices of the Central Administration of the Charity Organization “APOSTOLI” of the Holy Archdiocese of Athens were visited today at 1:30 p.m. by His Beatitude the Archbishop of Athens and all Greece, Mr. Ieronymos, President of “APOSTOLIS” with the Mayor of Athens Mr. Konstantinos Bakoyannis. The Archbishop was accompanied by Rev. Metropolitans of Nea Ionia, Philadelphia, Heraklion and Chalkidon, Mr. Gabriel, Vice-President of “APOSTOLIS”, Mr. Fthiotidos, Mr. Simeon and Archdeacon Fr. Ioannis Boutsis.
Addressing everyone, Mr. Bakoyiannis said: “Your Grace, your guidance gives us strength and we always draw inspiration from you, especially in difficult times. Your Excellencies, you always fill us with hope, let me start by expressing the gratitude of all Athenians for the valuable contribution, the outstanding contribution of “APOSTOLIS”. All these years we went through summers and winters and we all knew that in difficult times, in hard times, we could count on you! What you do far exceeds any words because above all what counts is the action and the result! Please accept the thanks of all the Athenians for all that you do for all of us and at the same time the thanks for the very good cooperation we have developed since day one. I am proud because always under the aegis of His Beatitude we act as if we are one, proving that when we join forces we can achieve a lot”.
Mr. Dimtsas welcomed the Archbishop Mr. Ieronymos and Mr. Bakoyannis and their entourage and in his speech, he referred to the activities and works of the Organization since its foundation while underlining that, “the vision of our Archbishop is being realized, the ” MISSION” to be the humble contributor to the relief of the neighbor, to take care of, to take care of the weak, the helpless, the sick, next to fellow human beings who suffer, who live under adverse conditions, to strengthen vulnerable families and children. In addition, he noted the undivided help and the joint effort and tireless support of the Reverend Mr. Gavriel of Nea Ionia, Vice President of “APOSTOLIS”, throughout its course and the excellent cooperation and support of the Reverend Fthiotidos Mr. Simeon”. Then Mr. Dimtsas said: “With all our strength all these years with strong will, stubbornness, zeal, we laid the foundations by establishing tomorrow. With the goal of protecting the health of our fellow human beings, children, young people, the elderly, families and vulnerable social groups, we set this vision, a continuous struggle to change our lives!”
