Inspection safari of the Economic Police in Athens and Thessaloniki: Employees outside working hours – “Lockout” in two stores

Violations were confirmed in 15 stores, while in 2 of them the procedure was initiated to impose suspension of operation for 48 hours.

From the Directorate of Economic Police and the Sub-Directorate of Economic Police of Northern Greece, carried out between 29 and 30 December 2022, controls in health care stores and meat businesses in Attica and Thessaloniki for its observance insurance – labor and tax legislation.

Violations were confirmed in 15 stores, while in 2 of them the procedure was initiated to impose suspension of operation for 48 hours.

In particular, in the context of the controls, it was found:

In Attica,

  • in a restaurant-bar, the non-issuance of a tax document and the entry of incorrect VAT. in another tax document,
  • in a cafeteria, to employ 2 employees who were not registered in the personnel tables,
  • in a cafeteria, to employ 3 workers outside working hours and
  • in a cafe, to employ 4 workers outside working hours.

In Thessaloniki,

  • in a restaurant, to employ an employee who was not registered in the personnel tables and the failure to issue 12 receipts with a total value of 469 euros,
  • in a restaurant, employing 3 workers outside working hours and not issuing 7 receipts with a total value of 780 euros,
  • in a steakhouse, to employ 7 workers outside working hours,
  • in a cafeteria-confectionery, to employ 2 workers who were not registered in the personnel tables,
  • in an ouzo-snack bar, employing 2 employees who were not registered in the personnel tables, 2 employees outside working hours and not issuing 2 receipts with a total value of 116 euros,
  • in a cafe, to employ 4 workers outside working hours,
  • a cafe employs 5 employees outside working hours and the non-issuance of 5 receipts with a total value of 104.80 euros,
  • in a restaurant, to employ an employee who was not registered in the personnel tables,
  • in 3 butcher shops, employing a total of 3 workers who were not registered in the staff tables, as well as another worker outside working hours.

For all cases, the competent services (DOU, SEPE, PEKA and the Region of Central Macedonia) will be informed for the imposition of the prescribed administrative sanctions.
