Shocking scenes on New Year’s Eve in Patras

The immediate reflexes of the leadership of the local ELAS, but also of the Minister of Citizen Protection, Takis Theodorikakos, was caused by today’s front page publication of the “Peloponnisos” newspaper, about the incredible incident of racism and inhumanity against a 35-year-old Roma, in Patras, which after they made him say the Carols on his knees they set his pants on fire!

The scenes are shocking, on New Year’s Eve, in a district of Patras. An adult Roma, about 35 years old, was forced to sing carols – to earn some money – with some knowing full well that he is a person with “reduced perception” they took the opportunity to laugh!

What happened on Saturday morning went beyond all limits. The man went to a well-known car dealership and asked… to tell. Some – unbeknownst to the owner – start the game, laughing at him. After a while, just making fun of them, they suggest that he… sit on his knees and sing carols!

Roma obeys. He kneels down and begins…”Archiminia and Archichronia…”! The bad taste and racist joke, however, does not stop there. One of the group throws drops of flammable material on his clothes and sets him on fire!
