Elliniko – Experience Park: Large number of visitors with the opening of its operation

A large number of citizens of all ages, despite the bitter cold, visited, yesterday, its second day of operation, the Experience Park of Elliniko with a total area of ​​over 70 acres, part of the Metropolitan Park of Elliniko, which is the first project of major renovation located in development and in its completion will be the largest seaside park in the world.

The Park, about half the size of the National Garden, opens its doors daily, from 17:00 to 22:00. Admission is free and access is from Vouliagmeni Avenue, very close to Elliniko Metro station. For the convenience of visitors, as mentioned in a relevant announcement, a free parking space has been created in the Park. In addition, free shuttle bus transportation is provided by Elliniko Metro. For the safety of visitors, the relevant procedures and recommendations adopted by the competent health authorities are followed.

In his statements, the Minister of Development and Investment, Adonis Georgiadis, who attended the inauguration of the Park on Monday together with the Deputy Minister of Development and Investment, Nikos Papathanasis, stated, among other things, that the Greek is becoming a reality, moving forward with great speed and refuting all Cassandres. For his part, the Minister of Civil Protection Takis Theodorikakos stated that living conditions are changing throughout Attica and the project will symbolize the Greece of tomorrow and will be a trademark for the whole of Europe.

In his statements, Odysseas Athanassiou, CEO of Lamda Development, stressed that in record time, just six months after the acquisition of Elliniko by Lamda Development – and much earlier than expected – the first project was delivered to the citizens. “We were committed from the first moment that we will deliver a project that will benefit all citizens, without the taxpayer giving a single euro. We keep this promise. At everyone’s disposal, it is from a green area of ​​70 acres with playgrounds, state-of-the-art areas for sports and squares. A unique park that will grow day by day to become the largest park in Europe, “he said. In the coming days, a number of events will be organized, both during Christmas and after, said Mr. Athanassiou, urging everyone to come, live the experience and make the Greek part of their lives. Experience Park is the beginning of the journey, he said.

Melina Paizi, Director of Development of Shopping Centers, Offices, the Metropolitan Park and Leisure Activities of the LAMDA Development group for the Hellinikon project, pointed out that the Experience Park has been designed with respect for the environment, sustainable development and the heritage of the space. We created a green area of ​​seventy acres with 55,000 plants, very close to the center of Athens. It is a park that will grow day by day to eventually become the largest park in Europe. The Park offers many experiential experiences and activities: an interactive fountain, a playground, 4 squares, a garden and separate sports areas, while for the first time in Greece we will see innovative lighting and music works signed by famous artists, he added.

The Metropolitan Park, in its completion, will be the core of the connection of the sea front with the mountain range of Ymittos and a very important and necessary green lung for the urban fabric of Athens. In the area of ​​Experience Park are all three Air Force hangars that are designated by the Ministry of Culture as newer monuments.
