The relevant announcements are expected in January
Within the next few days, the DYPA (formerly OAED) digital card can be stored on the mobile phone and in the Gov.gr Wallet application. The announcement is expected to be made in January by the Ministries of Digital Governance and Labor and Social Affairs.
In particular, the DYPA digital card will be interconnected and updated daily by the Digital Register, so that there is clarity on who is entitled to which benefits. It should be mentioned that it will be the fourth document in a row in the citizen’s digital wallet at Gov.gr Wallet. Through the Gov.gr Wallet verification mechanism, by “scanning” the barcode and of course with the beneficiary’s permission, it will be easy to see what kind of benefits, allowances, aids or facilities the holder of the new Digital Unemployment Card will be entitled to.
The new DYPA digital card will replace the printed form of the unemployment card and will have similar features and functionality to the digital disability card, which was added to the Gov.gr Wallet mobile phone application last November and was designed in collaboration with the National Confederation of Persons with Disabilities (ESAmeA). It works like the student pass, proving the identity of its owner and his status as a person with a disability against any public authority and third party. By showing it, its holders are already served as a priority in public service services, using it as a supporting document, instead of the disability certification, without being required to share their sensitive personal – and especially medical – data.
Kyriakos Pierrakakis has reiterated the commitment of the Ministry of Digital Governance to actions and policies that horizontally improve the everyday life of all citizens, emphasizing at the same time to produce added value for our fellow citizens who need it most and as he has emphasized the priority given by the two ministries in documents concerning two vulnerable social groups (the disabled, the unemployed) reflects what the Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, has said “that digital policy is a social policy”.
So far, 929,866 identity cards, 766,104 driving licenses and 5,905 Digital Disability Cards have been stored in Gov.gr Wallet.
It is recalled that Gov.gr Wallet creates new possibilities both in the identification of citizens and in serving them by various services.
The app already works as a second level of authentication for the issuance of authorization and declaration, as the citizen can choose either to receive the OTP for the issuance of the document by SMS, or to consent with a notification received in the app.
