The Mixed Jury Court refused to accept the request of Roulas Pispirigou’s lawyer, Alexis Kouia, to postpone the hearing of the case to a time after April.

A little while earlier, Pispirigo’s lawyer submitted the request for postponement of the trial citing professional as well as serious personal reasons.
Immediately after the “present” of the 34-year-old accused for the death of her first-born daughter, Georgina, and the declaration of a Civil Action by the child’s father, Mr. Kougias requested the postponement of the trial for after April.
Citing a series of serious lawsuits that are ongoing or starting soon with “problems of clauses or 18-month expiry” in which he must appear, the lawyer asked the court to proceed with an adjournment.
He also mentioned a serious health problem he is facing.
Mr. Kougias announced that on Wednesday his client would apologize for the case file concerning the death of her two youngest children and spoke of the risk of “having contradictory decisions”.
He said that he does not intend to request Roulas Pispirigou’s release from prison until April and emphasized that the case can be postponed, as there is no question of 18 months for his principal.
However, his request was not granted.
