Sakellaropoulou’s intervention on the problems of Justice: Meeting with the leaders of the courts

The President of the Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou summons next Monday, January 16, 2023, to a meeting the leaders of the Judiciary, the Plenary of the presidents of the Bar Associations of the country, to solve the problems that concern Themida.

The President of the Council of State Evangelia Nika, the President of the Supreme Court Maria Georgiou, the President of the Audit Court Ioannis Sarmas, the President of the Plenary of the Presidents of the Bar Associations of the country and the President of the Athens Bar Association Dimitris Vervesos and the president of the Federation of Judicial Officers of Greece, Georgios Diamantis.

Justice Acceleration Movement

At the same time, the Acceleration of Justice Movement (KED) with today’s announcement, welcomes the initiative of the President of the Republic Ekaterini Sakellaropoulou to convene the leaders of the Supreme Courts, the Plenary Session of the presidents of the country’s Bar Associations and court officials to solve the problems that have occupied the field of Justice for several years.

According to the announcement of the KED, “we believe that this initiative should have been taken a long time ago by the political leadership of the country, before the problems escalated to such an extent that their appeal works discrediting the institution of Justice” and continues: “All the actors of Justice must come to the dialogue table, with a constructive and sincere disposition to find solutions, putting aside guild opinions and short-sighted approaches”.
