Mr. Pleuris said that the problem is mainly found in inhalants
The Minister of Health Thanos Pleuris appeared reassuring today through SKAI about the drug shortages.
He pointed out that in one part there is complete substitution, as citizens may not find branded preparations, but they find generics and slowly the situation is normalizing in branded ones as well.
Mr. Pleuris mentioned that the problem is mainly found in inhalants, where we have less production there, however there are continuous imports and the situation will normalize.
However, he stated that normalization does not mean that there will be no shortages, – shortages exist at the global and European level – but the process will constantly improve.
“There is no reason to worry” he stressed at the same time addressing the parents, repeating that Greece has a Greek pharmaceutical industry, it does not have problems that other countries have and the hospitals and pharmacies of the EOPPY have a sufficient supply of medicines.
Finally, he mentioned that whatever is missing in the branded preparation in the private pharmacies, will be corrected.
