The perpetrators arrived on the island by liner and had hidden the heroin in their car
Two citizens aged 23 and 28 were arrested by police officers of the Narcotics Prosecution Department of the Rhodes Security Directorate, against whom a case file was filed for possession, transportation and trafficking of narcotics. A quantity of 2.6 kilos of heroin was found in their possession, which was confiscated.
In particular, as part of an investigation into a drug trafficking case, yesterday at noon the perpetrators were found to be riding in a passenger car, with which they had earlier arrived on the island by liner from Piraeus.
After a thorough police check, the following were found in their possession and confiscated:
– Heroin with a total weight of 2 kg and 686 grams, divided into five packages of equal weight, carefully hidden inside the vehicle and two mobile phones.
Also, the car they were using was confiscated.
Those arrested will be taken to the District Court of Rhodes.
