It is now possible to get into the Carnival atmosphere with the samba schools. The League announced the schedule for the technical rehearsals, which take place at the Anhembi Sambadrome until February 9th. And, best of all, admission is free.
The tests involve not only the special group schools, but also the access divisions. In all, more than 30 associations will pass through the samba catwalk.
This year, the parade at the Sambódromo returns to its normal schedule and takes place on the 17th and 18th of February (special group). In 2021, the School Carnival was suspended due to the pandemic. Covid-19 also changed the carnival period from 2022, when the parades took place in April.
This Saturday (14), Rosas de Ouro (23:00) and Independente Tricolor (00:15) will participate in the rehearsal. On Sunday it’s the turn of Império da Casa Verde (7:15 pm) and Mocidade Alegre (8:30 pm) — just to mention schools in the special group.
Current champion, Mancha Verde has three parades scheduled: January 22nd and 27th and February 4th. This year, the school’s samba-plot is “Oxente – I’m Xaxado, I’m Northeast, I’m Brazil”, about the history and folklore surrounding the musical rhythm in the country. Check out the full schedule of technical tests below.
