The media from Denmark cover the funeral of the former King Constantine with particular interest, as Anna Maria comes from the Scandinavian country.
TV2’s royal correspondent Camila Slingborg explained that Constantine and Anna Maria are well known in Denmark and for many years the Danish media has been covering the family.
Slingborg explained that she first came to Greece last week upon hearing the news of the former King of Greece’s death, interviewed citizens on the street about how they were feeling, returned to Denmark and came back to Athens yesterday to cover the funeral and the kings from other countries who will attend.
When asked if she expected such a response from the people, she noted that she is somewhat surprised as many years have passed since Constantine’s reign.
