The homicide of a man of Afghan origin and the attempted homicide of two persons of Afghan origin were investigated by the Department of Prosecution of Crimes Against Life and Personal Freedom of the Attica Security Directorate, after clash that took place between two national teams, Sunday afternoons in its area Omonia.
4 perpetrators were identified – A 20-year-old man was arrested
From the preliminary investigation, four perpetrators (two 21-year-olds, a 20-year-old and an 18-year-old) were identified who participated in the group that attacked with sharp objects the other group of their compatriots, resulting in the fatal injury of the victim and the injury of the two foreigners.
From the combined evaluation of information data and evidence, it emerged that two of the above (a 21-year-old and a 20-year-old) stabbed the victim who succumbed to his injuries.
A 20-year-old foreigner was arrested in the morning hours of 17-1-2023 by the above police officers, the rest of the accused are being sought and investigations are continuing to identify the rest of those involved.
The accused are known to the authorities
The above defendants have been arrested in the past for – as the case may be – violation of the law on weapons, on aliens, on addictive substances, theft by complicity, dangerous bodily harm and abduction of minors.
The arrested person was taken to the Criminal Prosecutor of Athens.
